Role Overview
We are looking for a QA Engineer with 3–5 years of experience in Point-of-Sale testing, with strong hands-on exposure to Shopify POS or a comparable retail POS platform. The role will focus on functional, integration, regression, and end-to-end testing of POS applications and omnichannel retail workflows.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform functional, integration, system, regression, smoke, sanity, and end-to-end testing of Shopify POS and retail POS applications.
- Prepare test scenarios, test cases, test data, and execution evidence based on business requirements.
- Validate product search, cart management, discounts, promotions, taxes, multiple payment methods, refunds, returns, exchanges, cancellations, receipts, gift cards, store credits, and customer management.
- Test integrations with eCommerce platforms, inventory systems, payment gateways, ERP, CRM, and third-party applications.
- Validate inventory synchronization across POS, online storefronts, and backend systems.
- Test online and offline POS transactions, including synchronization after reconnection.
- Validate POS devices, peripherals, and hardware integrations where applicable.
- Perform API testing and SQL-based backend validation.
- Track defects, participate in triage, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and support UAT and production verification.
- Prepare test execution reports and communicate QA status, risks, and defects.
Must-Have Skills
- 3–5 years of experience in software QA and testing.
- Hands-on experience with Manhattan OMS, Manhattan Active Order Management (MAOM), or related Manhattan Supply Chain solutions.
- Strong understanding of order management and supply-chain processes.
- Experience in functional, integration, system, regression, and end-to-end testing.
- Strong API testing experience using Postman or similar tools.
- Good SQL and database-validation skills.
- Knowledge of the order lifecycle, inventory availability, sourcing, allocation, fulfillment, shipment, returns, and refunds.
- Experience with JIRA or a similar defect-management tool and sound knowledge of STLC/SDLC.
Good-to-Have Skills
- Hands-on exposure to Shopify Admin, Shopify Storefront, Shopify APIs, and Shopify ecosystem integrations.
- Experience with card readers, barcode scanners, receipt printers, cash drawers, or other POS hardware.
- Experience testing payment gateways, mobile/tablet applications, and omnichannel retail solutions.
- Knowledge of REST APIs, JSON, and XML.
- Exposure to Selenium, Playwright, Cypress, JavaScript, Java, Python, CI/CD, and Agile/Scrum.
Educational Qualification
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related discipline.
